A solely Ghanaian-owned company, Margins Group has launched its Silver Jubilee anniversary celebration in Accra.
Margins Group of companies limited, the parent company of Intelligent Cards Production Systems (ICPS) was incorporated in 1990 to sell print finishing equipment, particularly binding and laminating machines, selected office products to offices, commercial printing and professional graphic industries.
Speaking at the launch – the Executive Director of Margins Group, Mr. Frank Oye noted that the anniversary would be used to tell the story of how the company started, “its phases and key events, breakthroughs and disappointments in the 25 journey.”
“We will use the occasion to unveil the current status of Margins Group and its subsidiaries, and communicating with clarity the vision and mission of our company for the next 25 years and beyond,” he added.
Mr. Oye however briefed dignitaries at the launch on how Margins Group started with a capital of $100 and its growth into a multinational leading African company.
According to him, Margins Group today is unsurpassed in the West African sub-region in the area of production of intelligent cards operations which are dependent on the modern sophisticated machinery.
The Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr. in his address lauds the Danish Embassy, the Danish Industrial Fund for Developing Countries and DANIDA for their immense contribution to the journey of Margin Group.
Moses Kwesi Baiden recalled that – the multi-million dollar company which started in his father’s garage, has since expanded to its present status as a leading company in the area of intelligent card production.
Guest speaker at the launch, Mr. Rashid Pelpuo commended Margins Group for their zeal in working in sector which has many challenges – thus, private businesses.
The Minister of state in charge of the Public-Private Partnership [PPP] noted that government is currently torn between whether to rely on the private sector or the public sector in developing the country – “but with the achievements of Margins Group, government will no longer debate on that”
